July 4 - new product drop

So, after being blown away by the response to the anti-whaling range (sold out in a week), we have doubled our quantities this time and expanded the range to include hoodies in kelly green and black, girls singlets in black and a different girls top which is a more body hugging fit than our standard girls tee - check out what that looks like this (but in black, and with the whale print):


The new anti-whaling gear drops on July 4 (GMT +10.00 AEST) and should be up on the store that night.

Excitingly for us, the same night sees our new creation borne into fruition; our 3degrees baby is born and starts growing. Our first 3D range drops, along with a special treat; sweatshop-free wristbands (glow in the dark white) with a 3degrees message. Again, these will be live on the store that night (another late night for us; not sure when we'll get to go snowboarding).

3degrees product launch.

3degrees - it's time to save snowboarding

Did you know that it could only take 3 degrees? 3 degrees and the end of snowboarding as we know it.

The IPCC [ link 1, link 2 ] reports that for every 1 degree rise in temperature, snow lines rise by 150 metres.

A 3degree rise at these rates would lift snow lines by 450 metres. This would end snowboarding in much of the world - Australia, Switzerland, the Pyrenees, Austria,
Germany and others. That is a horrifying idea.

Snowboarding will be reduced to those who are very wealthy, as snow seasons in marginal countries decline, we will be forced overseas for the thing many of us cherish and love so much. That is a future we at Heresy refuse to contemplate, let alone stand by and allow to happen.

3degrees is a Heresy Snowboarding initiative to harness the connection between every single snow rider on this planet to stop this from happening. We want to bring
awareness of this cause to every single snow rider through our tight connections, and our inherent close bond - our 3degrees of separation.

Many individuals and companies harbour good intentions toward the environment and reducing their footprint, but confusion reigns on how to mitigate this imprint.
Who do I donate to? How can I help? How can I make a direct difference? How do I know I am making a difference? Where is my money going?

Heresy is here to act as a focal point for your concern and act on all of our behalf.

For every clothing item from our 3degrees range we sell, we will be donating $10 to greenfleet.com.au. This non-profit organisation plants trees for every donation in order to help offset and reduce carbon emissions. Eventually we will expand to other grass roots efforts (like school tree planting efforts) that produce a quantifiable carbon offset.

For every sale, we will be directly benefiting the environment through the planting of trees.

We will be maintaining a counter on our 3degrees page which will detail how many tonnes of carbon we have offset and how many trees we have planted, thanks to you.

Carbon neutral? We say; "why carbon neutral." Heresy will be carbon negative. We are going to not only offset our footprint, but other people's carbon also.

How's that for direct action.

Heresy Anti-whaling news

So, it seems we slightly underestimated the response to our anti-whaling tshirts.

All sold out in a week. We have ordered another run, this time including unisex hooded jumpers and girls singlets/tank tops. More info to follow soon.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this so far. We have to dated raised around $450.

To help in this effort, we have produced an A3 and A4 poster in jpeg format. These are available at the Heresy site.
